The trend of comfortable, functional fashion has been growing for a while now, and it seems that 2020 will see the athleisure trend gain momentum. For the past few decades, the popularity of athleisure products grew mainly due to a growing consumer focus on health and wellness. However, around the world imposed lockdowns to combat the spread of COVID-19 will have added impetus to the athleisure trend. Below you can find the best performing athleisure brands in terms of the highest number of followers on Instagram in 2020.

The booming number of followers for athleisure brands shows that Instagram is already the leading platform for the fitness wear industry. While several most-followed athleisure brands come from Australia, United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden, the biggest market is still in the US where the term athleisure first became popular after Lululemon got its start.
